Simply Fresh Fruit Market and My Salads is 100% Australian owned. The Managing Director, John Commisso has grown up in the produce industry working weekends and school holidays with his father in various Fruit and Vegetable Stores throughout the ACT. John Commisso owned and operated his first café at the age of nineteen. In 1990 the opportunity arose to operate a Fruit and Vegetable Store in a suburban shopping centre and this is where the love and passion for all aspects of the business started.

After several years, John expanded into a more competitive environment at the Fyshwick Markets. In 1999, John accepted a request to expand his retail operations in a major shopping centre and it was here Simply Fresh Fruit Market was established. After successfully building and branding the business, the second Simply Fresh Fruit Market Store was opened in the City in 2004. The Wholesale Division and the Salad Bar was developed in this second store. A new concept of the Salad Bar, “My Salads” was introduced in the Woden Store in 2005. John Commisso’s simple objective of providing customers with the very best in quality service, has enabled his business to grow and develop into one of Canberra’s leading fresh produce companies.

Operations include two retail stores, two salad bars, wholesaling, packaging and processing operations for orange juice, fresh made salads, salad dressings, pestos, fresh peeled and/or sliced vegetables.
